What I Accomplished At Work Yesterday

First, I am wondering what prompted you to have to make those signs.

I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I would like to post the first sign - Every other week, I smell this sweet, sticky, burning odor. Upon investigation in our kitchen/copy room, I find the burner on, the pot empty or nearly empty, and coffee getting charred to the bottom of the pot.

We have different coffee makers than you, we have those big honking industrial ones - brews one pot at a time, but has 3 burners. Also has a hot water tap for tea and it's hooked to our water line so no one has to fill it.

I periodically send out an e-mail to our "absent-minded" staff asking them to turn off the burner if they take the last of (or nearly last of) any coffee. It makes me nuts, I swear one day we're going to start a fire!

And our microwave in the kitchen has a "popcorn" button - so all you have to do is press it, and it automatically does the popcorn without burning it. But people don't use it, they put the popcorn in, set it at 15 minutes, and then leave. Minutes later, the kitchen is full of smoke and the offender is trying to pull the charred bag out of the microwave without burning themselves.

Again, I wonder how some people function without burning down their homes.
